STYLESexy Strand Saturdays: Christina Hendricks' Hollywood Glam Bob
When you think about the pluses of rockin' a bob, it's a wonder more of us aren't signing up to cut off our locks. Straight or curly, it's quite possibly the most versatile 'do—not to mention, it highlights your cheekbones and saves a heck of a lot of time in the shower.
Gregory Patterson, a fabulous celeb stylist at Blow The New York Blow Dry Bar created a bouncy, full-of-life style inspired by Christina Hendricks' modern take on the Old Hollywood Glam bob.

1. "Use a dry shampoo at the roots for any oil or residue build up that you need to remove. The dry shampoo also helps to give a little grip at the scalp. I used a working spray prior to setting the hair—I find it much quicker and easier to just do an all over application vs. going curl by curl."
2. "Create your deep side-part first. I use the arch of the eyebrow as a guideline, directing the hair at a diagonal towards the crown of the head. The deeper the parting, the more dramatic the look. Next, create four large sections—two in the front from top of the head to the top of the ear and two in the back, splitting the hair right down the center. Sectioning will help you create consistent curl and keep you tidy, which is essential in creating this look."

3. "Using a ½—1 inch curling iron or wand, wrap a one-inch section of hair around the barrel. I purposely left the ends out to give it that modern feeling. After wrapping each section, clip it by using a pin curl clip to allow each curl to cool. This is very important to build the memory into the curl. After wrapping the last curl, allow to completely cool." Gregory suggests waiting about ten minutes.
4. "Once cool, remove all clips starting bottom to top. Using a Mason Pearson brush—starting at the bottom—start brushing through your curls. This look on the runway has very low volume at the root and is all about the volume through the mid-lengths to the ends of your hair. Brush until all the curls have take the shape that you like. Next, finish with a dry texturizing spray to increase that texture and give a brushable, buildable hold. I used Textstyle Dry Texture Spray by blowpro. Finally, we finished the look with a cute hair accessory to keep the look girly, flirty, and romantic."
