When the mid-workday topknot becomes monotonous and tired, it’s time for a blow-out. Like any girl with long locks, I’ve committed to giving my tresses the royal pick-me-up every so often, and the best way to do that is a good wash with an even better style. My hair was begging for some TLC (seriously, it had rained for like, 12 days straight) when I took a trip over to Blo Blow Dry Bar on their opening day.

I walked into the glam pink and white salon and all was right in the beauty world. Like most blow-dry salons, this facility provides their guests with a worthy wash followed by a trip over to the styling chair. I was handed a menu of six hairstyles, which, in my opinion, is way better than a menu filled with truffles and cheesecake. I picked the tousled wavy look nicknamed the Pillow Talk. The stylist took my hair from its embarrassing state to another level of fabulous (like SJP fabulous) in about 30 minutes.

In addition to the standard blow out, the salon also braids, tackles the sophisticated topknot, offers appointments at your house, bridal service, and more.

Next time, I’m probably going to try the Holly Would, for obvious diva-inspired reasons.
