One of the stars of 16 and Pregnant, Aubrey Wolters, is having a difficult summer. Earlier this month, it was revealed that Aubrey was arrested for suspicion of shoplifting, possession of a prescription drug without a prescription and possession of a dangerous drug while she was out with her baby last year. And now, Aubrey’s weight loss — which some speculated was related to alleged drug use — has been explained.  Unfortunately, she is suffering from a throat tumor.

Aubrey’s mom, Shelly Wolters, told E! News that her daughter is suffering from a sizable tumor in her throat, leaving her unable to eat or sleep.

“It’s huge,” her mo said “It’s almost the size of your fist. She has to get it taken out.”

Aubrey’s mom also explained that her daughter will have her record expunged as she was not charged with shoplifting after her arrest last year last year in Prescott, Ariz. at a local Walmart.

As of now, the most important thing is Aubrey’s health, as she currently has no health insurance and so is unable to undergo treatment.

According to Shelly, Aubrey was diagnosed with a noncancerous tumor at Oregon Health Science University.

“The last time I saw her she has a hard time sleeping, eating, breathing,” her mom explained. “It is something she needs to get taken care of but she wants to get a job to keep her apartment and raise Austin.”

Aubrey is legally separated from her 1-year-old son Austin Carter Akerill’s father, Brandon Akerill.

“Trying to take care of yourself always seems to be at the bottom of the list,” Shelly sid. “It’s affected her. She is not herself. She is good girl. She is just struggling like most new parents do.”

“Aubrey is really trying hard to be a single mom,” she added. “She and Brandon broke up and she is working hard to raise Austin.”
