New mommy Alicia Keys can add a new title to her already illustrious repertoire: Broadway co-producer! The bestselling singer is set to co-produce Stick Fly, a new show for the Great White Way. Find out more after the jump!

According to the BBC, the 30 year-old was “passionate” about taking on the project because it “portrays black America in a way that we don’t often get to see in entertainment.” The comedy will open in early December and features an affluent family that convenes at Martha’s Vineyard during a weekend.

Alicia stated, “This is a story that everybody can relate to.” She added, “I know it will touch all audiences who will find a piece of themselves somewhere inside this house.”

Looks like she’s not the only music sensation to try her hand at producing Broadway shows. Last year Sir Elton John produced Next Fall and in 2009, Jay-Z, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith became producers of Fela!
