As American Idol auditions swept Texas last night, producers were singing a different tune. The show began by apologizing to viewers in what host Ryan Seacrest alluded to hours before the episode on his radio show as a black card apology.

According to The Huffington Post, the black card apology was a follow up from last week’s episode. It read, “American Idol would like to apologize for last week’s outrageous behavior by Steven Tyler. Mr. Tyler has been warned and assures us it will never happen again.”

As for the reason for the outrageous behavior, last week a contestant’s last name was Muck and Steven poked fun that it rhymed with a profanity. What did you think about the apology? Was it warranted for the family program or is it much ado about nothing?
