J.P. Rosenbaum might have beat out Ben Flajnik in the fight for Ashley Hebert's heart on the  last season of The Bachelorette, but he still considers the new Bachelor his buddy and wants the best for him. And in J.P.'s mind, Courtney Robertson is not the best.

OK! met up with J.P. at the Junk Food Art House x Monopoly Runway Show in NYC on Feb. 15, where he told us that Courtney doesn't seem like a genuine person.

"The way that she is being portrayed, no, I don't think Courtney is good for Ben," J.P. told OK!. "But you never know the whole story. I have to give her the benefit of the doubt and hopefully the real her comes out and maybe he sees something different. But as of right now, no I wouldn’t pick her for him."

As for who he and fiancée Ashley think should walk away with an engagement ring on her finger, it's the lovable and charming, Kacie Boguskie. "Ashley and I are Kacie B. fans. We think she is an absolute sweetheart," J.P. admitted. "I am not watching it so much as a fan of the show, but Kacie B. is our leading candidate."

J.P. and Ashley know first-hand what it's like to find love on the show and be thrown into the media spotlight, so they hope Ben and his future fiancée can deal with the scrutiny and gossip.

"Don’t listen to anything you hear or read," J.P. advised Ben. "Sometimes it’s true sometimes it’s not true, but he and his eventual fiancée, when they are eventually together, should just focus on each other… all of the stress will be over soon. At the end of it, there are better things ahead."

First and foremost though, J.P. wants his former castmate to be happy and find his soulmate! "We got pretty close on my season [of The Bachelorette] and I hope everything goes well," J.P. said. "He is truly an exceptional guy."
