Thanks to his role in the new film Moneyball, Brad Pitt has landed the latest cover of Sports Illustrated — but that doesn’t mean he knows anything about baseball.

OK! NEWS: BRAD PITT TRIED TO PRETEND MARRIAGE TO JENNIFER ANISTON WAS “SOMETHING THAT IT WASN’T”

“I was just happy to do Sports Illustrated,” the 47-year-old actor tells the magazine (via Just Jared). “To do something other than the fashion-y things, for something I respect, is much more fun.”

Brad may play the general manager of the Oakland A’s in the film, but that doesn’t mean he knows much about the game.

“It’s shameful how little I know about baseball…. I’m amazed they let me do this movie…. Baseball and I didn’t get along that well. I wrestled one year [in high school]. I dove one year. Everything but baseball.”

So why did Brad want to be in the movie?

“I’m a sucker for the underdog story,” he confessed to Sports Illustrated.

And he hopes he made the goals of the film come true.

“What we were trying to do is tell an unconventional story in the Trojan horse of a conventional baseball movie.”
