Despite what everybody thinks, getting older isn't so bad. Just ask Cameron Diaz, who confessed that she's looking forward to turning the big 4-0. No, we mean she's really looking forward to it!

Cameron stopped by The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night and revealed that the older she gets, the more satisfied she feels.

"I'm gonna be 40, yeah!" Cameron exclaimed. "I'm so excited. When I was in my 20s, I couldn’t wait to get to my 30s, and I'm in my 30s now; I'm so looking forward to my 40s."

"I love getting older; I don’t think we embrace getting older enough," the What to Expect When You're Expecting star explained. "We don’t embrace our older generation, and those are the ones that teach us everything. I love having wisdom and learning about myself and knowing myself better."

One thing she learned about herself this year was never to cut her hair short — ever again! Cameron admitted that though she's sporting a super-cropped 'do, it wasn't what she originally had asked for.

“There was a little misunderstanding. I [told my friend who cuts my hair] I just want a little bit cut off, and it went from here to here,” Cameron said, pointing from her neck to her ears.

“It was one of those moments… I just started bursting into tears," she added. "I felt so vulnerable. For a woman to all of a sudden have no hair… Oh, my God!”

But no one felt worse than Cameron's hairstylist friend, who had a mini meltdown herself!

“She felt really bad. I felt really bad," Cam admitted. "She started crying. I started crying. But I ended up writing her a couple e-mails over the next couple of days insuring her I wasn't going to kill her."
