Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber have been targeted for extortion over a photo of their daughter, TMZ reports. Documents were filed in federal court saying Edis Kayalar, a friend of a former nanny, was threatening to sell of photo of Cindy and Rande’s 7-year-old daughter.

Cindy’s rep said the photo of their daughter was taken as part of a cops and robbers game, without Cindy’s knowledge. The photo shows their daughter bound to a chair and gagged.

The documents state that the nanny took the photo as a “prank” and that Edis stole the photo from her.

Cindy and Rande reportedly went to the cops, who then turned it over to the FBI.

The legal documents state that Rande paid Edis $1,000 for what he thought was the original photo, but Edis came back to Rande a few days later claiming he still had a copy of the photo and demanded more money.

Also in the documents, it states that Edis was arrested by the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department on Sep. 16, placed in federal custody by ICE agents for an immigration violation and then deported to Germany.

On Nov. 11, the documents state that Edis called the the Crawford from Germany and demanded $100,000 or he’d release the photo to the media. He said he “had no choice now but to extort the victims for money because they had gotten him deported.”

Edis has been charged with one count of extortion and could be charged with two years behind bars.
