After rumors recently surfaced that Elizabeth Olsen, the younger sister of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, could be taking on the role of Carrie Bradshaw in a Sex and the City prequel flick, the 22-year-old set the record straight on Saturday, confirming that the reports were false and even admitted that she isn’t “cool” enough to play the part!
“My friend who loves blogs told me about it when it was happening and its not real,” Elizabeth denied being involved with the film to reporters while out at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Luncheon in L.A. alongside stars like Twilight’s Taylor Lautner, Leonardo DiCaprio and Gerard Butler.
Despite the rumors not being valid, Elizabeth admits that she is a huge fan of the franchise, but doesn’t think she could ever live up to Sarah Jessica Parker’s iconic role.
“I love Sex and the City and I would never pretend like I could ever be one of those ladies,” the Silent House star gushed at the Beverly Hills Hotel, “No one is as cool as Carrie Bradshaw!”
Although SATC is not in the works for Elizabeth, the young starlet seems to be doing a great job of balancing a full academic workload at NYU and a full-time job on the big screen.
“I forwarded a paper today before coming here to my teacher in New York on Shakespeare in Film,” the student, with more three movies slated for release in 2011, revealed to reporters, “I really like academic classes and school work and I enjoy writing academic essays.”
Elizabeth’s latest project, Peace, Love & Understanding, with Jane Fonda and Chace Crawford, is due out in theaters later this year.
