AMC released a statement (via Los Angeles Times) today saying that Glen Mazzara, Frank’s former righthand man, will replace Frank after his sudden departure earlier this week.

The reason for Frank’s departure remains a mystery, but AMC said it is “grateful” to him and that “his contributions to the success of The Walking Dead are innumerable. We continue to discuss his ongoing role with the series.”
