Next Sunday as most Americans chow down on buffalo wings and gather around the TV for the Super Bowl commercials (and oh yes, the game), Glee will air a brand new episode, “Thriller,” that will feature the on-going rivalry between New Directions and the football team!
Brad Falchuk, Glee co-creator, tells The New York Post, “We’ve always explored from the pilot, this idea of the conflict of these two worlds: the glee club and the cool, popular jocky kids at the school. It’s now coming to a very serious head and it’s coming to a point where it’s so severe that Coach Beiste and Will feel like they need to take some action.”
So, what can we expect from the special episode that cost $3.5 million (yes, million) to make? Big production numbers and a compelling story arc. As in huge like Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” and the late Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” Brad adds, “It feels similar to the pilot — a lot of heart.”
