Apparently a monkey simulating a sex act on a bottle of water is not “funny in any language.” MPAA has ordered Warner Bros. to pull the trailer for The Hangover Part 2 from all movie theaters.

The full official trailer of The Hangover Part 2 was set to appear in the trailers to this past weekend’s release of Source Code, but the R-rated film didn’t quite make it into the previews of the PG-13 movie.

Slashfilm obtained a copy of the letter sent to theaters, which states “Warner Bros. and the M.P.A.A. have instructed all theatres to remove The Hangover Part II trailer #2 from Source Code and any other placements. These #2 trailers need to be DELETED FROM YOUR SERVER. We greatly appreciate your immediate cooperation on this matter.”

So why did the trailer have to be removed?

In a statement issued to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. writes, “In our haste to meet the placement schedule for this trailer, we failed to properly vet the final version with the MPAA. We acted immediately to correct the mistake and removed the trailer from screens.”

According to THR sources, Warner Bros. will be making changes to the trailer before it will be shown in theaters again on April 15. The trailer will instead run before Scream 4, which is R-rated.

So what will they be changing? Apparently the monkey nibbling scene at the end is probably the focus.

What do you think? Is this trailer too inappropriate for theaters as it is now?
