James Denton appeared this morning on Access Hollywood Live and opened up about the ladies of Wisteria Lane's real-life feuds, why Nicolette Sheridan was absent from the series finale and how he felt about the direction of the last episode.

"It’s hard to tie up all of those loose ends, but I think they did a pretty good job,” he said of last night's show. “I think it played really well. It’s all about what the audience wants after sticking with us for that long, and it sounds like they’re pretty happy. I think [show creator Marc Cherry] did a great job with it."

He also amicably thought the ghost scene was "cool," marveling on the 52 actors killed throughout the series. And while there might be a feud on the set of Desperate Housewives — the ladies versus Teri Hatcher — he has nothing but amazing things to say about his former co-star.

"I worked with Teri almost exclusively, and I learned a ton from her. She’s really brilliant comedically; very underrated I think, " he said. "We’ll have a scene on paper that you’re kind of going, ‘How is this going to work?’ and sure enough, she makes it work."

So the million dollar question: Where was Nicolette Sheridan?

"I think she was booked," he demurred. "She was doing another job that day."

Uh-huh. So it has nothing to do with that $20 million lawsuit against Marc?
