Jennifer Hudson may be talking about her weight-loss battle on her new book tour, but weight is not the reason she turned down a role in the Academy Award-nominated film Precious.

Jennifer spoke to reporters at last night's Good Housekeeping’s cocktail party celebrating her magazine cover and her book, I Got This: How I Changed My Ways and Lost What Weighed Me Down, where she set the record straight on the controversy.

"I’m a firm believer [that] what is meant for you is meant for you, and it was clearly meant for Gabby [Sidibe]," she said. "I adore her and she did an amazing job.

"Again, I did not turn the role down because of the weight situation. The character was doing things — at least in my script that I got — that [went] places I did not want to go and I felt like I didn’t need to go."

Does she have any regrets? Absolutely not! Jennifer said laughing, "I’m totally fine with that decision. I got my Oscar all right!"
