Last night on the season finale of Celebrity Apprentice, finalists John Rich and Marlee Matlin headed into the last task thinking it was anyone’s game but only one emerged the champ! John took home the claim to fame along with $250,000 for his charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Find out more after the jump!
In fact, according to the Associated Press (via MSNBC), Donald Trump said it was his most difficult decision on the Apprentice to date! Before declaring the winner, The Donald announced, “I’ve never had to go through something like this… You’ve both been amazing.”
During the course of the season, each contestant competed in business-like tasks in NYC to raise money for their favorite charities. As for the final challenge? John and Marlee had to create promotional launches for 7-Up’s new “Retro” beverage. In addition to both of their successful launches to design new cans and in-store displays, write and shoot a commercial and then unveil the new product, in true form, past celebrity contestants appeared on the finale.
Perhaps the buzz was most noted surrounding one in particular who was absent. Reality star Richard Hatch is currently in prison as a result of tax evasion. Former teen idol and Apprentice contestant David Cassidy commented, “I think he’s in the right place at the right time.” Sounds like The Donald may also be in the right place at the right time — merely days ago he announced he will not be running for president. For Celebrity Apprentice fans this means, yes, he will be back on his show when it airs again this fall.
