Julia Roberts may have her pick of top Hollywood movies, but it’s raising her three children that makes her feel like a real blockbuster.
The Pretty Woman star opened up to Oprah Winfrey in an interview airing Monday to discuss her new movie, Eat Pray Love and of course, being a mom, reports ET Online.
“They are really angelic and wondrous,” Julia says about five-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, and Henry, 2. “[It's] so heavenly and kind and dear and just to have that.
“The chaos that goes on in our house and then the quietude that goes on… My favorite thing is just watching them wake up and watching them realize the day come upon them. It’s just, I don’t know, it’s fascinating to me.”
Having children, she says, has made her realize the wonder in small, everyday things.
“That’s the thing about being new to the world, you’re just so present and impressed with everything… the older you get and the grumpier you get, [it's like], we’ve got to get there. We’re going to be late. You know, they’re in the car: ‘Look at the tree!’ Everything is exciting.”
She reveals a story in which her youngest, Henry, woke up early and told her, “It’s a beautiful day, mama.” She adds with a laugh, “which makes 5:30 a.m. a lot prettier.”
Meanwhile, the 42-year-old is enjoying her a new home-making hobby — sewing. “This is my new skill to keep my brain firm,” she says. “I made some big pillows for the kids and some really simple pants for Danny [Moder].”
