In true King fashion, The King’s Speech is taking the crown in earning the most Golden Globe nominations for 2011.

The nominations for the 68th annual Golden Globes were announced this morning and The King’s Speech earned seven, the  New York Daily News reports.

The film, about King George VI’s struggle to overcome a stuttering problem before announcing England’s war with Germany, was even nominated for best picture!

In addition, Colin Firth was nominated for Best Actor in a Drama, Geoffrey Rush for Best Supporting Actor and Helena Bonham Carter was nominated for Best Supporting Actress.

Director Tom Hooper, screenwriter David Seidler and the film’s score also earned nominations!

Earning six nominations each, The Social Network and The Fighter were the films to follow The King’s Speech.
