Every week at OKmagazine.com, accomplished designer Malan Breton takes a look back at the week in fashion — the Do’s, the Don’ts and everything in between! Join Malan and OK! for Fashion Fridays!
They sparkled, they shined, glossed, plucked, feathered and frocked, and darlings, the day became one of Tony awards splendour.
Christie Brinkley gave us a touch of Marilyn Monroe, while Sutton Foster gave us a little memory of grandmother’s fern garden. Judith Light gave us glamour ala rouge, and Whoopi Goldberg, oh Whoopi! Darling, it appears she raided the closet of the new Johnny Depp Pirates of the Carribbean film.
But alas the biggest faux pas of the night, Frances McDormand, in magenta and denim. Coming from this world I am so happy to see the Broadway community glam it up. Bravo. darlings!
And brava to the most stunning lady of the night, my darling Catherine Zeta-Jones. I have never once seen her look anything but Hollywood royalty!
Well from Hollywood royalty to true royalty, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have the most lovely taste in clothing, Kate (formerly) Middleton, is the most delicate and stunning beauty in this gown of glowing paillettes and blush tones, STUNNING!
I love that country music is bringing such beautiful fashion to its events. Gone are the days of rhinestone studded denim and cowboy boots and new are the elements of femininity, poise, and glamour. My favourite look of the night from the Country Music Awards was Laura Bell Bundy in this delicious gold confection. Beautiful!
Darlings, my favourite of the week, a woman that could make the most mundane the most coveted — Cameron Diaz, in a “legs for days” jumpsuit and stunning fitted blazer.
Well darlings, another week in fashion is done and viola! Time to pop out the sunscreen, the lip gloss, and your favourite “Malan’s Musings,” haha! And enjoy the beachy weather.
Until next week, I wish you Love and Glamour,
