OK! NEWS: NORA EPHRON, WHEN HARRY MET SALLY SCREENWRITER, DEAD AT 71

Billy Crystal, who played Harry in the 1989 classic When Harry Met Sally…, written by Nora, said he was "very sad" to learn of her passing, as she was "a brilliant writer and humorist… Being her Harry to Meg's [Ryan] Sally will always have a special place in my heart. I was very lucky to get to say her words."

Meg — the unofficial Nora Ephron poster girl who starred in When Harry Met Sally…, Sleepless in Seattle and You've Got Mail — called her "an era."

"We pictured ourselves inside her dreams and they became ours. All wisdom, wit and sparkle lights, what a treat she was, what a blessing," she said. "I marvel again and again, what a life…to have created a simple happiness in people, to have added to the sum of delight in the world."

Meryl Streep, who starred in Silkwood, Heartburn and Julie & Julia, remembered Nora's sense of "fun," saying you could "call on her for anything: doctors, restaurants, recipes, speeches, or just a few jokes, and we all did it, constantly. She was an expert in all the departments of living well."
