It's hard to believe a time when Jennifer Aniston wasn't an A-lister but back in the early '90s before Friends hit primetime and the Rachel 'do made a splash, she appeared in a few TV pilots that went nowhere.

Warren Littlefield, the former president of NBC Entertainment, recalls a conversation of self-doubt from the star herself.

The Hollywood Reporter points out in his new book, Top of the Rock: Inside the Rise and Fall of Must See TV, Warren recalls, "Jennifer had been in our weak attempt to do [a show based on] Ferris Bueller. We cast her in a few more pilots, but none were very good."

Literally at a gas station on Sunset Boulevard, she turned to him and asked, "Will it ever happen for me?" He remembered thinking, "God, I wanted it to."

Well, soon after that conversation Jennifer auditioned for the sitcom and the rest is history.
