American Idol is playing a serious game of musical chairs! All three judges Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler, and Randy Jackson (he'll be in a "mentoring role" a source tells US Weekly) will all be leaving, so who will take over?
It's already been confirmed that Mariah Carey will replace J Lo on the Fox show, but there hasn't been word about who will fill the other two seats until now.
Former Disney star Nick Jonas, 19 and N.E.R.D. rapper Pharrell Williams, 39, are the front runners for the gig US reports.
"Nick is pretty close to signing to be the Idol judge," one insider says. "They flew him in to L.A. last week for final meetings."
And Pharrell who has produced big hits for Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani and Justin Timberlake is also near hammering out the terms of his deal.
"Everything is looking good, but they're still working out details," the source said.
What do you think of Nick Jonas and Pharrell Williams signing on as judges?
