After the sad passing of veteran actor Tom Bosley at 83, those who knew him best are taking time to share warm sentiments and fond memories. Director Ron Howard laments the loss of his dear friend, who played his TV dad Mr. Cunningham for 10 years on the hit 1970s hit sitcom, Happy Days.
“Tom’s insight, talent, strength of character and comic timing made him a vital central figure in the Happy Days experience,” Ron said, who played Richie Cunningham on the beloved comedy.
“A great father and husband, and a wonderful artist, Tom led by example, and made us all laugh while he was doing it,” he continues in a statement. “My last conversations with Tom reflected the love of life and peace of mind that he always maintained throughout his full and rewarding life.”
“I miss him already.”
The accomplished actor dies Tuesday in his Palm Springs, Calif., home, after a staph infection he endured while battling lung cancer.
