It would be hard for any couple to come back from infidelity in their marriage.

But after the public implosion of Rupert Sanders and Liberty Ross' relationship after he cheated with Kristen Stewart, it appears that they are trying to make things work for the sake of their two children, although they still have a long road ahead.

"It was Rupert's suggestion that he go to marriage counseling with Liberty," a source told RadarOnline.

"He will do anything to save his marriage because he loves his wife and knows he screwed up.

"They have been married since 2003, and have two children together, they have a life together.

"Rupert and Liberty are currently in marriage counseling together and have been going to the therapist for weeks.

"[They] also see the marriage counselor individually. Time will tell if it works, but Rupert is hopeful it will save the relationship.

Kristen and Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson have now rekindled their relationship after she told him she "didn't actually have sex" with her Snow White and the Huntsman director and Rupert is doing everything he can to keep his family together.

"Rupert is living under the same roof with Liberty and their children," the source added. "He absolutely doesn't want to leave. Liberty needs to be able to learn to trust Robert again, if the marriage has any chance of making it."
