After a near-death accident involving a jet ski in Miami Beach, Sean Kingston is on the road to recovery.

“He is aware of what is going on around him,” a rep for the singer told MTV News, adding, “is sedated but fully conscious.”

Sean is currently being treated at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami Beach.

The hospital also issued a statement to MTV: ” Sean Kingston is currently in critical but stable condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. Sean’s family asks for privacy at this time but is thankful to his friends, family and fans for their outpouring of prayers and well wishes.”

On Sunday, Sean and a female passenger crashed his Sea Doo jet-ski into the Palm Island Bridge at approximately 6 p.m. He was then rushed to the trauma unit at Jackson Memorial and has since been moved to the ICU at the hospital.

TMZ reports that the jet ski Sean crashed into a bridge in Miami Beach is missing a handlebar.

Photos obtained by TMZ show that the accident did not result in extensive damage of the body of the watercraft.

Sean’s passenger, Cassandra Sanchez, told TMZ that the”left handlebar was torn from the jet skit during the accident.”
