Broadway really did turn off the lights on Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark — U2's Bono and The Edge's highly anticipated musical, which struggled to open last year due to technical difficulties, was snubbed this year by the Tony Awards.

The show only got two nominations, for costume and scenic design, while musicals like Once, Newsies, Nice Work If You Can Get It and Leap of Faith took the lead and were nominated for Best Musical.

But the biggest success this year seems to be Once, the movie-turned-musical, which walked away with 11 nominations.

Special awards will be handed out to Broadway favorites Hugh Jackman, who had a sold-out one-man-show this season, and Bernadette Peters, for her "Broadway Barks" work. Not to mention she also starred in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Follies, which received eight nominations!

Congrats to all the nominees and all those Broadway performers who were not recognized this year, including wonderful actors like Matthew Broderick (Nice Work if You Can Get It), Ricky Martin (Evita), Angela Lansbury (The Best Man), Eric McCormack (The Best Man), and Reeve Carney (Spider-Man).
