You don’t think that all the cool, important awards shows happen only between September and February, did ya? No way. Because this week alone there are three big ones happening in Hollywood. So much for summer hiatus! Read on to see what red carpets are happening this week, who’s gonna be there, and why, when and how you can tune in to watch ’em:
1. Young Hollywood Awards.
What is it? Referred to as the “Oscars of Young Hollywood,” this show honors young stars and up-and-comers in the industry, aka basically anyone under the age of 25.
Who’s going to be there? Stars like Selena Gomez, Bella Thorne, Austin Mahone, Cody Simpson and Dave Franco are getting special honors at the show, but you can expect surprise appearances from almost everyone else who has a pop record and/or a show on Disney Channel or ABC Family.
How can I watch? Thursday, August 1 at 8pm on The CW
2. Do Something Awards
What is it? Unlike other awards shows, this one honors people—both famous and non—who give back to their communities with philanthropic work. It’s, of course, sponsored by the organization, DoSomething.Org.
Who’s going to be there? One of five deserving teens will win the annual scholarship for their charity work, but stars like Jennifer Hudson, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Patrick Dempsey are getting recognized, too. And Sophia Bush is the host!
How can I watch? Wednesday, July 31 at 8pm on VH1
3. TCA Awards
What is it? Thrown by the Television Critics’ Association each year, this show honors the best in TV. It’s basically like the Emmys but slightly less important.
Who’s going to be there? Expect A-Listers, basically, since actors from shows like Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Game of Thrones and Saturday Night Live are all up for awards.
How can I watch? Well, you can’t, unless you’re one of the lucky people who got an invitation to the presentation which takes place this Saturday, August 3 at the Beverly Hills Hotel. But stay tuned to TVCritics.Org for the full list of winners!
