Alison Sweeney knows a lot about weight loss being the host of The Biggest Loser. This is why she continues to help out pets with their weight-loss struggles, too!

Last week Alison brought the "Million Pound Pledge" to NYC. Why is this cause so important to her?

"I just think it’s important to take care of your whole family. Obviously, obesity and weight loss and health are something that I work with everyday, but it’s important to me to keep my kids healthy, my husband healthy, myself, and my pets. I learned, when I was told by my vet, that my dog Winky needed to lose weight, and I realized how I had been remiss in taking care of Winky’s health and not paying attention to it."

What is she trying to accomplish with the pledge?

"To have our pets lose up to a million pounds and all of that can be done at petfit.com, that’s the website. You go there, you can register for your pet’s pledge to lose weight and you can also get the free Science Diet weight loss-system there, and you get a coupon to redeem at Pet Smart. And on the website there’s also online management tools and good tips for how to get your pet healthy and a lot of really useful, good information for pet owners.”

How is Winky now? “She’s fantastic. She’s been maintaining her weight loss for almost half-a-year now and she looks great.”

Another subject close to Ali's heart are soap operas! Being a longtime veteran of NBC soap Days of our Lives, she told OK! what she thinks about all of these soaps being canceled.

"It’s unfortunate. It’s sad to say goodbye to shows that have such strong allegiance from their fans and people care so much about these characters that have been on their TVs for so long, and of course I relate to that. I’ve been on Days 18 years. I’m a fan of the show myself from before, when I was a teen. I get it. I know how you bond with your mom and your grandma and you watch those stories together."

“Hopefully, the shows that are on still will maintain those fan bases and be part of the new age. Who knows what the future holds? But I know just to be around for a while and we just want to make sure our fans know that we’re here, we’re going to fight to stay for as long as we can.”
