Earlier this summer, news broke that not only were Johnny and his long-term girlfriend, Vanessa Paradis, splitting, but none other than bisexual newcomer Amber Heard was the alleged homewrecker behind the breakup.

"The crazy thing was that Johnny actually split from Vanessa at the end of last year, so Amber didn't break them up," a source told RadarOnline.com. "But because they didn't announce their relationship was over until June, people were painting Amber as some kind of scarlet lady, which she is far from being."

Scarlet lady or not, Amber was not a fan of all the magazine articles and Internet stories revolving around her hooking up with her Rum Diary co-star. So much so that she put the brakes on the whole affair.

“Amber has never wanted that sort of attention. She prides herself on being free-thinking and independent — not some homewrecker trying to sleep her way to the top," the source continues, adding that "as soon as the media started publicizing the romance, she told Johnny that she needed some space."
