American Idol alum David Archuleta has been dropped from his recording label, Jive Records, according to new reports.
“David was released from our roster,” a rep for the company told the Hollywood Reporter this week of dropping the artist.
David’s 2010 album The Other Side of Down has only sold 67,000 records, according to the site, and isn’t generating much buzz.
His first album, self-titled, saw much more success as it quickly went platinum in 2008.
The 20-year-old came in as a runner up to American Idol winner David Cook on season seven of the hit show.
