Reports have been swirling that American Idol's Phillip Phillips, who was crowned this season's winner at the finale last night, will undergo kidney surgery following the show's promotional tour. And his best friend and season 11 contestant Heejun Han confirmed to OK! exclusively that those rumors are true.

"Yeah, he might have to [have surgery right after the finale]," Heejun told OK! on the red carpet at the finale held at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, Calif., last night.

"He's not going to miss the tour. It is just the right time," Heejun added of the surgery. "He is fine, he is not going to miss anything."

Heejun says that Phillip has been struggling with hs health all season, but has kept his spirits high.

"Phillip is good. He is just lying in bed most of the time, but he's good," Heejun, who was eliminated before making it into the top 8, explained, adding that he's excited for the summer tour "since there is no voting."

As for Phillip's big win last night, Heejun is thrilled and even gave his buddy, who he met during Hollywood week when they sang together for group auditions, a big hug and squeeze after Ryan Seacrest announced his name.
