If you’re addicted to The Real Housewives of New York City or Beverly Hills or New Jersey for that matter, chances are you’ve seen Watch What Happens Live on Bravo for the fall-out, the catfights and oh yes, the claws. Well, the host behind WWHL and Bravo exec, Andy Cohen, has become a star himself and recently inked a book deal!
Andy signed a deal with Henry Holt to release a memoir next summer. Not only that, he signed it to the tune of an advance in the low seven figures, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. Cha-ching!
Holt publisher Stephen Rubin noted the rare quality of this successful Hollywood exec is to dazzle both on-air and off. “Anyone who sees what Andy Cohen has achieved at Bravo knows the guy is a marketing genius. What nobody knows as of yet, is that Andy is also a very seductive and compelling writer with a story to tell that will charm, shock and engage readers with its candor, honesty, and wit. Andy is as irresistible on the page as he is on screen.”
The man behind smash hits Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Project Runway and of course, The Real Housewives franchise, will pen the memoir tracing his life from a closeted gay teen in the ‘burbs of St. Louis to his career as a producer at CBS This Morning and 48 Hours to his role as programming exec at Bravo.
Andy told The Hollywood Reporter, “I love to write and I’m thrilled that I get to share stories of my improbable intersections with pop culture that have enriched my life.”
