While Angelina Jolie remains very appreciative of her successful film career, the mom of six recently opened up about slowing down her pace on the big screen to enjoy life with Brad Pitt and their family.
“As Brad and I get older we’re going to do fewer films. I’ve been working for a long time, he’s been working for a long time, we’ve had a nice run and don’t want to be doing this our whole lives. There are a lot of other things to do,” the Tourist actress revealed to the Financial Times in a new interview via E! Online.
Loyal fans needn’t worry. Angelina isn’t planning on retiring from her career in film, but explained that when she was younger, she took on more roles to actually help explore her own sense of self.
“I was trying to question things in life,” the L.A. native, who was born into a family of actors, confessed of using her characters to find herself.
Now at 36 years old and with much life experience behind her, the mother to Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne, admits that her family has taken top priority over her passion for acting.
“I’m older and I know who I am, and I’m less interested in the character helping me answer something than in being able to answer it for myself, as a woman, as an adult, with my family.”
So, what will the A-list star be doing with a bit more time on her hands?
Asides from trying her hand at writing and directing, Angelina plans to spend time with her children, explaining, “I love travel. If you can travel, I think it’s the best way to raise kids.”
