Aretha Franklin Thanks Fans After Stunning Grammys Tribute

In a stunning opening performance to the Grammy Awards, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Martina McBride, Florence Welch and Yolanda Adams payed homage to the Queen of Soul. Much to the delight of the audience, Aretha Franklin appeared in a video to thank her fans for their support. It was Aretha's first televised appearance since having surgery in December.

Aretha told fans, "I wish that I could have been with you all tonight, but since I couldn't, next year." The 18-time Grammy winner wore a white dress and looked thinner, thanking fans for all of their support and get well cards.

Hopefully the incredible performance helped her feel better as well! According to PopEater, the ladies began with a group performance of (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman and then solos of Ain't No Way, Until You Come Back to Me, Think, Respect and Spirit in the Dark. As for their last song, they rocked out to Sisters Are Doin' It for Themselves.
