In a new memoir, All That is Bitter & Sweet, actress Ashley Judd outlines a revealing, sad insight into her family which includes memories of being molested and her mother’s famous term of putting the “fun” in dysfunctional.
Although the book is released today, RadarOnline received a sneak peak (via Huffington Post). After Ashley’s father moved out of their house, her mother Naomi Judd began dating a man. Not just any ol’ man — he was an abusive heroin addict!
Ashley writes, “I was taught to believe that our lifestyle was normal and never to question it or complain, even when I was left alone for hours, sometimes days at a time, or when I was passed without warning to yet another relative.”
In another instance, she outlines a memory of being molested by an old man everyone knew and overall a childhood surrounded by “too much trauma, abandonment, addiction and shame.”
