Ashton Kutcher already confirmed his Two and a Half Men casting to the Twitterverse with his clever “what’s the square root of 6.25?” Tweet, and now the funnyman has made an official statement about moving onto Charlie Sheen‘s turf.
“I can’t wait to get to work with this ridiculously talented 2.5 team and I believe we can fill the stage with laughter that will echo in viewers’ homes,” Ashton said in a statement, via E! News. “I can’t replace Charlie Sheen, but I’m going to work my ass off to entertain the hell out of people!”
Never one to let things slide, Charlie already gave his statement on being replaced by Demi Moore‘s hubby.
“Ashton Kutcher is a sweetheart and a brilliant comedic performer… Oh wait, so am I!!” the 45-year-old actor responded, adding, “Enjoy the show America. Enjoy seeing a 2.0 in the demo every Monday, WB. Enjoy planet Chuck, Ashton. There is no air, laughter, loyalty, or love there.”
CBS confirmed Ashton would be joining original cast members Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones on the set of Men. He will not, however, be taking on the role of Charlie Harper. He’ll play a new person who comes into the Malibu bachelor pad.
Ashton is reportedly signed on to make a fraction of the more than $2 million Charlie was making per episode.
