It’s always been known that the “reality” in reality show is a little questionable, but the latest issue of Star shows just how questionable it can be. According to an insider, Bachelor Pad paid former Bachelor Jake Pavelka a pretty penny to participate in the show and even guaranteed him to survive several eliminations!OK! NEWS: BEN FLAJMIK SLATED TO BE THE NEXT ‘BACHELOR,’ REPORTS SAY
“I don’t believe he was there to apologize,” says another reality insider. “He was there to put a Band-Aid on his image and make a buck at Vienna’s expense.”
Which Jake certainly did if former Bachelorette contestant Craig Robinson‘s claims are correct. “I heard he was given $20,000 to appear on four episodes of the show,” says the reality star.
Contestant Kasey Kahl, Vienna’s current beau, claims producers protected Jake to keep the ratings up.
“They thought it’d be great to keep the love triangle going,” he tells Star.
But the under-the-table-deal meant that it wasn’t just Kasey and Vienna who were unhappy with Jake’s reality TV return.
“It was total crap,” an insider says. “They changed the rules to keep Jake on the show. They even sent two girls home instead of losing him, which is just plain wrong.”
