Betty White has confessed her adoration for long-standing crush Robert Redford, but nowadays, the almost 90-year-old superstar has her sights set on a new man!
"George Clooney is not chopped liver," Betty told Access Hollywood at the NBC TCAs on Jan. 7. "I think [I] should expand [my] horizons a little bit, don't you?"
But allegedly, Betty and George had a fling back in 1987, when he appeared on an episode of The Golden Girls! Remember when he joked about it when Betty won the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2010 SAG Awards?
Still, knowing Betty, who is celebrating 63 years in the business and her 90th birthday in a televised special set to air on NBC on Jan. 16, she'll only keep her inappropriate thoughts about George to herself. For years now, Betty has refused to meet Robert Redford, although we all know she could if she really wanted to.
"No, no, no!" Betty exclaimed when asked if she'd finally meet The Horse Whisperer. "That's the bargain — I never want to meet him. I just like to admire him from afar."
"It would be such a disappointment if I met him," she added. "I've taken his name in vain so many times — I would be so embarrassed. He understands."
