Blake Shelton has some advice for Tracy Morgan. The Voice judge and country crooner commented on Tracy’s recent disturbing homophobic rant, as Blake also had a recent run-in with GLAAD over what were viewed as anti-gay Tweets.

Tracy incorporated a homophobic rant into his standup routine during a show he had at Nashville’s Ryman Theater on June 3.

“You know what? Here’s what I’ve learned about it,” Blake began when asked for his thoughts on Tracy’s actions on Sunday during the CMA Fest 2011 Nightly Press Conference. “People that know me know that I’m just gonna say stuff every now and then whether it’s stupid or not and I don’t mean anything by it. There’s people out there that are hiding in the bushes that are waiting to jump on something like that.”

Blake explained that he wasn’t familiar with Tracy’s exact situation, but he did share what he learned when he was receiving heat from GLAAD over a Tweet.

“Of course I don’t know what he did, but I know with me I was just sitting there watching Say Yes To The Dress and I was bored as hell with Miranda [Lambert] and I sent out a Tweet. Next thing you know I’m being burned and that was a learning experience for me because my fan base, they get it. But now I been on a show like The Voice and it’s a completely different group of people that I’m reaching now, they don’t get it yet but I think they will. I would just tell Tracy just when to shut up. I’m damn sure learning that.”

Back in May, Blake Tweeted: “Re-writing my fav Shania Twain song.. Any man that tries Touching my behind He’s gonna be a beaten, bleedin’, heaving kind of guy…”

GLAAD deemed the Tweet unacceptable, especially for a judge of leading reality show that reaches all different people. The gay advocacy organization went as far as saying: “One has to wonder how Shania Twain feels about seeing her anthem about strong women and female empowerment turned into a violent threat.”

Blake did clarify his Tweet: “Hey y’all allow me to seriously apologize for the misunderstanding with the whole re-write on the Shania song last night… It honestly wasn’t even meant that way… I now know that their are people out there waiting to jump at everything I say on here or anywhere. But when it comes to gay/lesbian rights or just feelings… I love everybody. So go look for a real villain and leave me out of it!!!”

Tracy’s comments were more severe.

One of the most shocking statements from his rant in Nashville, was when he talked about the possibility of his son being gay, saying he “better talk to me like a man and not in a gay voice or I’ll pull out a knife and stab that little n***** to death.”

He reportedly ended with, “I don’t “f***ing care if I piss off some gays, because if they can take a f***ing d*** up their ass … they can take a f***ing joke.”

Even Tina Fey expressed her surprise and disappointment with her 30 Rock co-star.

“Stand-up comics may have the right to ‘work out’ their material in its ugliest and rawest form in front of an audience, but the violent imagery of Tracy’s rant was disturbing to me at a time when homophobic hate crimes continue to be a life-threatening issue for the GLBT Community,” she said in a statement.
