Blink 182 singer Mark Hoppus is trying hard to help tsunami victims in Japan by gathering up anything he can find to auction off for charity on eBay. One item has already reached over $15,000!
“So sad for what’s happening in Japan,” Mark Tweeted. “Gonna dig in the bins & find some old blink-182 items to auction for the Red Cross.”
“And yes, I already donated money of my own,” he added.
Mark gathered up so many items that he apparently had to ask eBay for permission to post more!
“CRUD!!! ebay won’t let me list any more items, and i got some good ones!” he wrote. “anyone know the ebay people and can raise the limit here?”
Well, he must have found the help he needed as he later wrote, “Thanks to everyone at @ebay for their help with the auctions. They are going above and beyond. Respect.”
So far the highest item is an original hand-written lyric sheet for the song “Rock Show,” with bids reaching over $15,000.
Also being auctioned is the orange sweater Mark wore in the “Dammit” video and the dressing room sign for Blink 182 from the VMAs.
Mark is giving 100 percent of the proceeds to the American Red Cross and will continue to add more items!
