Britney Spears is keeping tourmate Nicki Minaj in her prayers and asking her fans to do the same, after news was released that Nicki’s cousin had been murdered.
Nicki announced the news of her cousin’s death via Twitter on the Fourth of July.
“Lived in Brooklyn his whole life,” she wrote. “My precious cousin. My baby. Killed last nite.”
She later added, “*My cousin Nicholas. Also goes by Juse, or @brolicalcoholic* Murdered. Last nite. Near his home. Brooklyn,NY.”
Nicki has remained quiet on her Twitter since that announcement, but her Femme Fatale tourmate Britney is now expressing her sympathy on her Twitter account.
“Please keep @NickiMinaj & her family in your prayers. … keep up the amazing love and support you guys have for her,” the singer Tweeted late on Tuesday.
Nicki and Britney were performing in Winnipeg, Canada, on Monday night when Nicki learned that her cousin had been shot and killed in New York.
According to police (via MTV News), Nicholas Telemaque, Nicki’s 27-year-old cousin, was found near his home early Monday morning with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso region. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at Kings County Hospital, and the investigation is still ongoing.
