After some fans in Australia criticized Britney Spears for lip-synching her performance at a recent concert Down Under, the Britser herself is speaking up about the buzz, albeit in a roundabout sort of way. "I hear there is a lot of controversy in the media about my show," BritBrit says in a statement.  "Some reporters have said they love it and some don't. I came to Australia for my fans!"

But what really steams the Britney camp is the reports that fans walked out of her show when they realized she wasn't singing live.

"It's the biggest lie I've ever heard," Britney's tour promoter Paul Dainty tells The Australian. "I'm so angry. We can take heat if there's something wrong and people can review shows badly — that's something you have to live with — but to say people stormed out of the show was an absolute fabrication."

As for those fans who weren't aware Britney tapes her songs ahead of time,  the Musicians Union of Australia released a statement saying it's their opinion that fans should be warned before buying tickets.

"It's not right that people are going to the concert when they are being misled," Terry Noone, the union's federal secretary, tells ABC News. "That's the issue. It's not about music, it's about false advertising.”
