Look out, Adele, a Jersey boy just took over the reigns! Check that, a Jersey boss.
Bruce Springsteen's new album, Wrecking Ball, is now in the top spot on the Billboard 200 charts. In fact, he knocked out Adele's album, 21, which spent 23 weeks at number one!
Not only that, as pointed out by the Huffington Post, Wrecking Ball is his tenth number one album. It sold 196,000 units in its debut week compared to 21 which sold 190,000 albums.
He's also now tied with Elvis Presley for the third most number one albums in music history. As for the other two? The Beatles hold the top spot followed by Jay-Z.
Although Wrecking Ball received mixed reviews by critics, it was inspired by the Occupy Wall Street Movement so maybe fans resonate with his angst. Rolling Stone indicated, "Wrecking Ball is the most despairing, confrontational and musically turbulent album Bruce Springsteen has ever made."
