Channing is not a virgin when it comes to making romantic movies.

"You gotta do the Dear Johns," he tells Details magazine. "You gotta do The Vow."

The Eagle and G.I. Joe star will be showing his sensitive side with Rachel McAdams in The Vow, which will hit theaters just in time for Valentine's Day. The movie is based on a true story of a wife (Rachel) who loses her memory in a car accident, and her husband (Channing) has to help her remember how to love him.

It's not a Nicholas Sparks movie, but with Channing's background in Dear John and Rachel's role in The Notebook we know it will be good!

OK! NEWS: STEVEN SODERBERGH REVEALS CHANNING TATUMS' MOVES ARE "TOUGH TO BEAT"

"I'm conscious about why I did those parts, those movies," Channing explains.

"I wanted to learn from Rachel on The Vow," he says. "I wanted to learn from Lasse Hallström on Dear John — he did The Cider House Rules and What's Eating Gilbert Grape. I didn't go to acting school, so my knowledge of story, filmmaking and character comes from just being on set and doing it."

But he hopes fans can see an improvement.

"I know I'm not the best actor," Channing admits. "But I hope my characters are getting better."

Well, from the trailer, we think he already looks perfect!
