Charlie Sheen to Enter Rehab, Take Time Off TV

Months after his domestic dispute with wife Brooke Mueller, Charlie Sheen has made the decision to take time off of his popular CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men and enter a rehab facility, his publicist says.

"As a preventative measure, Charlie Sheen has entered a rehabilitation facility," publicist Stan Rosenfield said in a statement to the media. "He will take some time off his series 'Two and a Half Men.' He has asked that his privacy be honored. No further statements are planned."

A joint statement from Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment; Peter Roth, President, Warner Bros. Television; Chuck Lorre, Creator/Executive Producer of Two and a Half Men reads: “CBS, Warner Bros. Television and Chuck Lorre support Charlie Sheen in his decision today to begin voluntary in-patient care at a treatment center. We wish him nothing but the best as he deals with this personal matter. Production on ‘Two and a Half Men’ will be temporarily suspended.”

Brooke entered a rehab facility just last week, in order to treat a reported substance abuse problem. Charlie and Brooke got into a fight on Christmas Day and the police were called, and Charlie was charged in the incident.
