Chris Brown Splits From Karrueche Tran, Spending More Time With Rihanna

Chris Brown has confirmed that he is officially a single man again and has split from girlfriend Karreuche Tran - inevitable after he has been basically inseparable from Rihanna the past few days.

The timing of his announcement comes as the singer was seen getting very cozy with his ex-lover at a New York club and a Jay-Z concert on Wednesday night and was also pictured leaving the Barbadian star's hotel.

"I have decided to be single to focus on my career," Chris, 23, said in a statement on Thursday. "I love Karrueche very much but I don't want to see her hurt over my friendship with Rihanna. I'd rather be single allowing us to both be happy in our lives."

Chris and Karrueche, 23, dated for about a year but their relationship was always peppered with reports he was still seeing Rihanna or at the very least maintained a close friendship with her after their romance imploded in 2009 when he assaulted her following a pre-Grammy party.

And just last month, Karrueche is said to have been annoyed when the former couple kissed on the lips as Rihanna, 24, left the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards.

It's reported that Chris and Rihanna were actually seen making out at the NYC club and she has been posting cryptic messages on her Twitter page maybe alluding to the fact that her public estrangement from the man she calls the love of her life is over and they are now free to conduct their relationship for the world to see.
