Christina Ricci Joins Cast of 'Smurfs' Sequel

Who knew The Smurfs were going to have a sequel, right?

Well, apparently the blockbuster hit from last summer which starred Neil Patrick Harris and Hank Azaria rolled in $564 million around the world.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Christina Ricci will join the cast for the sequel that is expected to hit theaters next July. As for the role, she'll play Vexi, who is apparently an evil version of Smurfette, voiced by Katy Perry.

This has been a busy year for the actress, who starred in ABC's canceled Pan Am. She'll also star in Bel Ami with Robert Pattinson and Uma Thurman. Bel Ami will open nationwide on June 8.
