In David Beckham's eyes, family always comes first. The soccer star turned down the opportunity to play with French club Paris Saint-Germain, explaining he didn't want to relocate his family from L.A. to France.
"David Beckham is not coming," PSG president Nasser al-Khelaifi said, according to ESPN. "We feel a little disappointed. But both sides agreed it would be better that we not do the deal…. Maybe [it might happen] in the future."
David, who has four kids — Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, 9, Cruz, 6, and Harper, five months — with wife Victoria Beckham, stands by his decision and is trying to finalize a new one-year rolling contract with U.S. professional team the LA Galaxy, which was paying him an annual base salary of $6.5 million for the last five years.
"David Beckham is [with] Los Angeles," al-Khelaifi added. "And he's going to stay there."
