Monday night's installment of Dancing with the Stars challenged each contestant to dance about the best year of their life and, naturally, Sean Lowe chose the one in which he met and fell in love with fiancee Catherine Giudici. Unfortunately the reality star isn't quite as head-over-heels about his performance as he is about his lady love.

Sean and his pro dance partner Peta Murgatroyd danced the Viennese Waltz to the Jason Mraz tune "I Won't Give Up," dedicating the number to Catherine, who was part of the grand finale when her soon-to-be hubby planted her with a sweet kiss.

"I told her, 'Just be prepared...I might dance right in front of you.'," says Sean. "I didn’t give her anything else outside of that."

While Sean admits the emotion was there as he thought of Catherine during the entire dance, his timing and footwork was off, frustrating the former Bachelor, especially since he has been considering the waltz for the couple's wedding dance.

"After that performance I don’t think I’m ever going to do the waltz again," he laughed. "No, I’m just kidding.I’ll give it another try. I’m just not real thrilled about how it went tonight."

Despite his disappointment in himself, Catherine, who was in the audience with both her mother and Sean's parents, thought he did a great job.

"She thought I was robbed," says Sean. "She’s gonna say that no matter what I get unless it’s 10s. She thought it was a great dance. She loved it. She kept waving at me in the sky box from down below making sure I was okay. She’s very supportive as always."

Assuming Sean and Peta make it through tonight's elimination round, the Texan is prepared to put in some serious work for next week's dance.

"The game plan is just to train my butt off and make next week a lot better," says Sean. "I feel like I owe her (Peta) a great dance and I’m going to try and perform a great one next week."

Find out how the contestants fared on tonight's Dancing with the Stars results show airing at 9/8 central on ABC.
