Start your engines, Twi-hards! The director for the fourth and (perhaps?) final installment of the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn, has finally been announced!
Summit Entertainment has confirmed via a press release and Facebook that Bill Condon will be helming the project.
“I’m very excited to get the chance to bring the climax of this saga to life on-screen. As fans of the series know, this is a one-of-a-kind book — and we’re hoping to create an equally unique cinematic experience,” says Condon in the statement.
Added author Stephenie Meyer, “I’m so thrilled that Bill wants to work with us. I think he’s going to be a great fit, and I’m excited to see what he does with the material.”
Condon won an Academy award for Best Adapted Screenplay in 1999 for Gods and Monsters, which he also directed. He’s the writer/director behind Dreamgirls and Kinsey as well, and was nominated for his screenplay for Chicago in 2003.
